Key added values include:
o strategic applications--
CTPartners specializes in applications that have a
direct and measurable impact on an organization's
bottom line. These applications focus on the
organization's long-term goals and objectives such
as improving customer service, becoming more global,
and containing costs.
o information integration--
CTPartners dynamically accesses data embedded in
generations of software applications and databases.
Using integrated interfaces of their own design, end
users are empowered to input, extract and manipulate
information easily from heterogeneous data sources
including mainframes, minis, and LANs.
o open systems technology--
CTPartners uses a three-tier client/server architecture
and open systems standards to leverage and augment
existing systems. This results in flexible, cost-
effective and end-user driven applications.
o business case--
All applications developed are cost justified
through the development of a comprehensive business
case. This analysis not only validates an
application's strategic impact, but also prioritizes
the functions to be included in the final system.
o building consensus--
Throughout the Cambidge Application Life Cycle (CALC),
conscensus is built among all interested client parties
from the executive information systems, and end-user
communities. This mind share not only overcomes political
impediments to designing and developing systems, but also
ensures the long term success of the rolled out
application.
o unprecedented time frame--
CTP defines and implements applications in one-third
of the time required by traditional methods
(10-25 weeks).
o business practices--
The majority of the CALC services are performed on a
fixed price, fixed time frame basis.

CTP Methodology
**********
CTP04.GAL
*********
..pictureA:\CTG\CTP04.GAL,65535,49151,1,43,13,
The Cambridge Application Life Cycle (CALC), is CTP's proven
methodology for creating strategic computing applications.
Although the CALC is sequential, clients have the flexibility
to enter the cycle at any step.
Throughout the CALC, CTP ensures that executives, users and
MIS have complete buy-in of the application. This is done
through a combination of joint development (in certain phases)
and frequent "check-points." Their smallest production
systems have been delivered in 6 weeks. Larger systems
average 25 weeks.
The CALC process:
o strategic application identification and technical
evaluation services
-CTPartners unites key executives, appropriate user
groups and information system personnel to evaluate
the client's business, technical and cultural
environment.
-This two- to five-day analysis results in the
identification and definition of specific
applications that have strategic benefits for the
sponsoring organization.
-Preliminary architectures are explored.
o Rapid Solutions Workshop
-Three-week joint application development effort
brings together executives, MIS personnel and end
users in the creation of a prototype, benefits
analysis and preliminary technical design of the
strategic application.
-Because this is a consensus building vehicle it
provides a tangible reference point to validate the
application vision.
o application design
-Over a three- to five-week period, CTPartners and
the client develop complete end-user and system
architecture specifications.
-The final scope of the system is determined based
on a thorough analysis of each function's payback
potential.
-Also formulated is a comprehensive project plan as
well as decision on third party hardware and
software.
o system development and implementation
-During this phase the requirements designed
and scoped in previous phases are fully developed
and made operational.
-Utilizing state-of-the art development tools,
a three-tier client/server architecture and the client's
existing hardware, software and people resources,
CTPartners develops a full production system in
under 28 weeks.
o client support services/empowerment
-Upon completion of a system, a dedicated
CTPartners support team works either remotely from
Cambridge or on the client's site to meet the
application's evolving maintenance and enhancement
needs.
-CTPartners offers extensive apprenticeship
training which empowers our clients to become self-
sufficient in providing ongoing application
development and support.
